SPECIFICATION
While maintaining the performance of the Pronto2, it includes G711 standard for basic telephone quality, G722 standard for communications requiring high quality voice, ISO MPEG Layer II Mono 64 Kbps, Joint stereo 128 Kbps, ISO MPEG Layer III Mono 64 Kbps and Joint Stereo 128 Kbps.
The communication interface allows it to be connected directly to ISDN BRI (So interface) via built in TA, with the option of using both B channels (64 Kpbs) separately in G711/G722/MPEG 64 in any combination.
Working in G711 mode, the Pronto3 provides an alternative to telephone hybrid, allowing standard voice communications on both the ISDN and the analogue telephone network. A conventional analogue telephone connected to the front panel of the unit allows communications to be established or received remotely and the call then passed to the programme, on hold or on air, as usual with hybrids for the basic telephone network. When the G722 mode is selected, the unit allows high quality voice communications via the ISDN network, with an advantage over other audio encoding systems of a low delay.
The Pronto 3 also includes a digital audio I/0 AES/EBU signal and a connector for transmitting and receiving auxiliary data simultaneously with the MPEG audio.
Pronto3 has a built in TA and also a X21 port for connecting to other digital communication networks (dedicated networks, satellite communications etc.).
EXTERNAL TELEPHONE: The Prontos also features the ability, accessed through a simple front panel menu, to remote control the unit with a standard analog telephone (connected to the RJ11 socket on the front panel) using the DTMF (multifrequency) tones generated by the dial pad. The same telephone can also replace an audio I/O cahnnel in G711/G722 modes to act, for example, as a talkback system.
